WHITNEY STREED: the hilarious comedian in PDX and the event's festive host.

Whitney Streed is a comedian because if she was not, her incessant punning would have no artistic or monetary value whatsoever. She has been seen at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival (with Janeane Garofalo), the Comedy Underground in Seattle (with Moshe Kasher), burlesque shows, pride festivals, and more than one biker bar in Troutdale (with mild terror). She relaxes by producing shows like Laughterglow and Hangover Helper. She also created the PDX Comedy Blog, covering events and news and silly things about the Portland comedy scene. She likes glitter. "Streed’s particular brand of observational, grammar- and pun-pocked humor is as shifty and fun as it is heady and relevant.”  “Stand Up Gals (and Guys),” Just Out, 3/5/10 Dax Jordan at an open mic once.Whitney has played on the GirlPartries PDX stage at Miss Frankie Tease's productions as host/co-producer/ and comedian for the whole of 2010 now into 2011. A few tidbits about Whitney: She does Improv, she laughs a lot, she thinks a great deal about puns, gender, brains, grammar, awkward tension, history, performance, conspiracy theories, shame, glitter, and the internet. Whitney Streed has been winning over comedy audiences and peers alike in Portland Oregon for almost two years now.

BOY and BEAN the finest prohibition-era trio in the PNW
Boy and Bean are a Portland based swing/jazz trio featuring Luke Short on guitar and vocals, Amber Short on vocals, and Andrew Jones on upright base. Depression era music is Boy and Bean's primary musical focus covering song by such artists as the Mill's Brothers, The Boswell Sisters and Ella Fitzgeralds. To show you their popularity, this band started a fundraiser (via kickstarter.com) to get their first recording ever in play and in 3 days they raised the $2000 that they needed to proceed with the production of their first album, enabling them to begin their first tour as early as April this year. Do enjoy this trio while we have them, their sound and style is destined for popularity of all types of listeners and swing dancers. Boy and Bean will play at the show's opening slot at 9pm and the dance floor will be open to you. Find out more at http://www.boyandbean.com
